Understanding unconscious bias & its impact on decision making
The program will develop capability in identifying how we form biases and how our biases affect decision making. It will explore how our attitudes and behaviours towards other people can be influenced as much by our instinctive feelings as by our rational thought processes. For the leadership group, the program will provide practical guidelines to help reduce the effect of our biases on key processes including recruitment, selection and career development decisions.
Anti-discrimination & EEO
This training module covers the key concepts of Equal Employment Opportunity (EEO): discrimination, bullying and harassment, including sexual harassment. It will provide some clear definitions around what legally constitutes these unacceptable behaviours, and highlight your related legal and workplace responsibilities. It will provide you with some helpful strategies to prevent and respond to related incidents that may arise at work, including options for further support. Explore what is and is not inappropriate behaviour, and learn some effective, appropriate ways to respond to and prevent the behaviour.
Getting it right: promoting gender diversity at work
This culture change program aims to help organisations to create a more diverse and inclusive culture by boosting gender equality and respect in the workplace. We outline what equality is all about, identify what gender-equal workplaces look like and highlight your role in improving organisational culture.
Understanding and preventing violence against women
This session explores the key issues relating to violence against women by providing an overview of the prevalence and impact on individuals and workplaces. We will assist individuals to develop an accurate understanding of the issue, touching also on family and domestic violence, and discuss and dispel common myths. Strategies and safety plan tips will be provided for both employees and managers.
